Planned Parenthood Spends 700K Against Parental Notice on Abortion

Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) -- As it has done in past years, Planned Parenthood abortion businesses in California are willing to shell out some of their abortion profits to make sure they can leave parents in the dark about teen abortions.

They are, once again, spending heavily to defeat a parental notification measure.
Earlier this month, the California Secretary of State validated Sarah's Law, the latest version of the parental notification initiative, for the November 4 ballot. Proponents submitted more than 1.2 million signatures on petitions seeking a third vote on adult involvement in minors' abortions, after Propositions 73 and 85 were narrowly defeated in 2005 and 2006.

In order to defeat the proposal, Planned Parenthood abortion centers created the mis-named Campaign for Teen Safety.

While the organization has received significant funding, new papers from the Secretary of State show the San Jose-based affiliate of Planned Parenthood recently contributed $700,000 to the campaign to defeat parental notification.

Father Would Have Persuaded Daughter Against Legal Abortion That Killed Her

Bristol, England (LifeNews.com) -- A British father told a court hearing that he would have tried to persuade his teenager daughter against having the legal abortion that eventually claimed her life.

Manon Jones had an abortion in June 2005 using the dangerous abortion drug RU 486 and bled to death two weeks later.

As LifeNews.com has reported, Jones, an 18-year-old student from Wales, experienced heavy bleeding after the abortion, which was incomplete and left part of the unborn child's body inside her. Manon's father, Dewi Jones, told an inquest that he was never informed about his daughter's pregnancy or her decision to have an abortion until she checked into Southmead Hospital in Bristol with complications.

According to a BBC report, Jones said he was distressed to learn that Manon, who is a Christian, decided to have an abortion because of issues with her boyfriend's family, who are Islamic.

In a tribute speech to his daughter during the inquest, Jones said "everyone has a right to their religion - and you could have, like your sister Elin, now have gone to university and had a very bright future." He said he wouldn't have had a problem with Manon dating a Muslim man and that nothing would have come between him and his "loving daughter Manon."
